Hearing some good things about Vento, a new template syntax that checks the two biggest boxes I look for:
* Async-friendly everywhere
* A nice mix of JS in template syntax

@zachleat @misteroom Ooh. That looks exciting... And with 11ty support? You've probably got other things on your plate right now though!
@jamesdoc @misteroom I believe Noel Forte is working on this! https://github.com/noelforte/eleventy-plugin-vento
@zachleat @misteroom Lovely! Looks like I've got some playtime planned!
@zachleat @misteroom it looks nice! I share the same gripes they mention with other templating languages. Might eleventy become twelvety?
@zachleat @misteroom I remember seeing this on the Discord, I really liked what I saw! I think it might trip me due to my NJK muscle memory, but it is very cool — I recently refactored my website already… but NEXT TIME! (maybe)
@zachleat Hey! Thanks for mentioning Vento!
The name means "wind" or "air" in galician. I hope it brings a breath of fresh air to the javascript template ecosystem 🌬️@misteroom I’ll definitely be trying it out on something!
@zachleat @misteroom I think I'm getting too old. I just can't get excited about templating anymore. It's this really that different than the 20 versions of this that we already have?
@polotek @misteroom this is how old I am: I’m immediately wondering how you define templating? 🫣
