   @zachleat @stubbornella as a single data point: I stopped engaging with the "State Of" surveys a long time ago because it was clear it wasn't measuring anything except broad popularity. This graph is not surprising, but it's also not useful.

   @zachleat there are 3 ways to interperet massive developer dissatisfaction with web components

   1. Survey issues
   2. WC DX should be fixed
   3. Sunk cost fallacy

   For this survey we asked for awareness (never heard of it, heard of it, tried it) & sentiment (positive and negative). We can (later) filter out folks who haven’t tried them to see if it is different

   I want to know which of the interpretations makes sense, but not from the lovers or hater. It is average developers who matter

      I think a mixture of all 3 of those things is likely true.

      I am very worried about demographics and over-indexing on popularity as a method for prioritization.

      If the average responder to a State of ___ survey is Man Who Thinks React Is Good, Actually—will the outcomes of those survey results (if used for prioritization decisions) improve the web platform or diminish it?

      What values do we want the web to have and how can we use those to inform prioritization instead of popularity?
