what’s the name for the SPA phenomenon where it has an outdated data model on the client so even when you do a faux-navigation it shows you old, stale data and you have to force a full page refresh anyway to see the latest data
that thing where it goes fast, but it’s wrong
what’s the name for that

@zachleat "A SPA meeting someone's OKR as a MVP."
@zachleat the human brain?
🧠@zachleat I suggest we start calling it a "faux-SPA"
@hexagoncircle @zachleat we have a winner!
@matuzo @hexagoncircle @zachleat Isn‘t it still a SPA, just a Stale Page Application?

@zachleat my “favorite” is when some short-lived authentication token times out, but the SPA doesn’t do anything about it, so it just starts misbehaving in chaotic ways until you force-refresh the page
@eldritchanchovy haha yes, very relatable.
@eldritchanchovy @zachleat @slightlyoff ha! My Teams (nice heavy electron app by your employer) does that all the time!
@eldritchanchovy @zachleat@fediverse.zachleat.com @slightlyoff oh and Blazor web apps too. Another Microsoft technology. Perhaps @slightlyoff should consult more of his own coworkers!
@StevenBarnhart @eldritchanchovy I literally spend half my time on it. Target rich environment.
Why do you think I'm so exercised?
@zachleat Fitbit
@zachleat I don't know but is it related to the behavior where when you do the refresh, even though you have an updated URL that looks like it's got your page state encoded, you end up on a 404?
@zachleat a bug 💁🏻♀️
