   @zachleat Even my gullible young mind eventually figured out how plainly bad the writing was.

   Chapter n: We are stranded and broke.
   Chapter n+1: We met a new friend with a plane and some buried gold.
   Chapter n+2: The guy died :( but we get to keep his stuff!

   It was the first time I deliberately quit reading a book mid-way through.
