Saw some wild messaging from Apple in the Software Update app on an old MacBook — in fact the system was *not* up-to-date. Surfaced via a Google Chrome EOL message.

Got them switched over to the latest version of Firefox just fine 👀

(But seriously, I’m running it on a 2014 Mac mini and 2017 MacBook Pro to run macOS Sequoia and Sonoma respectively.)

    @zachleat It’s bonkers. It’s fiddly but what they’ve pulled off has let me keep some old hardware going with reasonably up to date macOS versions.

Nice According to https://whattrainisitnow.com/calendar/, you gave atleast 1 year of extra life to that laptop. Nice, less hw going to landfills! Probably Mozilla will too likely one day target newer MacOS since MacOS 10.15 is EOL since 34 months (https://endoflife.date/macos). Probably in next ESR they'll drop the support as well
