@bkardell third in the thread 😅 https://fediverse.zachleat.com/@zachleat/114551989484738297
@zachleat Wow! 🤯 That basically means 11ty in 2025 is ~30× the combined origins of Next.js, Nuxt.js, Gatsby, Astro, SvelteKit, and Remix! 😁
@matthiasott have you been smelling the excel spreadsheets again matthias 😅
@zachleat oh … have … have you not yet publish those numbers? 🤐
@zachleat Oh, I thought you meant that it seems to have peaked in 2024 and is now on the decline. That would mean (I think?) that headless CMSes are actually catching on. That is pretty surprising.

@zachleat If anyone is curious and doesn’t want to look it up themselves: WordPress is ~3x the origins of all React sites.
@alannorbauer Preact was another surprising one
@zachleat Wait whattttt??? React has ~3x the origins of Preact? I would have expected Preact to be much, much smaller. That’s the first really surprising one for me.
@zachleat Yes, what happened in the summer 2022? Some kind of biblical catastrophe.
@zachleat I'm only surprised the WordPress numbers are stagnant for the last three years
@zachleat I didn’t realize Nuxt was that popular, but otherwise not really.
Pleasantly surprised to see that Wordpress line dipping 👀
@zachleat Not really.
It would be interesting to me to see a comparison where the WordPress instances only count installs that use a theme used by fewer than some arbitrarily low number of installations. I suspect the vast majority of WordPress users use WordPress primarily because they don't have to think about the code, that it's a fairly set it and forget it product. Which, no shade, but that skews the results.
