   @zachleat Depends on the scope of the consensus. We need consensus for a standard that spans common component features. FWs will always do their thing, have their own comp definition, but need to consent to and support the standard. For this, we can't do without FW authors.

      @zachleat I've seen this pattern dozens of time, whether it was jQuery, Underscore, CoffeeScript, TypeScript or templating. Some libraries and tools experimented, innovated and propelled standardization. Standards never reproduce exactly what they are doing. But standards need to cover common practices to be useful. So a rough consensus is essential. I don't (want to) see component standardization as special here.
