   @zachleat heh, you could make the only CSS something like `* { all: unset !important; }`

   That would be an interesting little reversal: a site that's a total mess visually, but is still (assuming it's structured properly) semantically coherent to anyone using a screen reader.

         @cbirdsong @zachleat I got it wrong: it’s `-apple-pay-button`. Back in the (Twitter) days I already had fun with it: https://twitter.com/meduzen/status/1186246559966683136

   @zachleat would be interesting to provide this in an #EmpathyLab

   Instead of "you can only use this website with a keyboard"... 🤔

   Thanks for the inspiration!

      @stvfrnzl what’s EmpathyLab?

      1. Steve Frenzel 19 hr later

         @zachleat it's a place where people can experience different kinds of disabilities while using (a website) or interacting with something

         They would wear glasses simulating certain visual impairments, such as cataracts or tunnel vision and are given tasks, like solving a maze or puzzle

         Or use browser extensions simulating Parkinson's while booking tickets

         It's a great way to introduce people to the topic of accessibility and can make it easier to relate

         1. Zach Leatherman 20 hr later

            @stvfrnzl awesome! is there a home base for it online?

            1. Steve Frenzel 20 hr later

               @zachleat not that I'm aware of, but I think big companies like Apple and Google have these, someone might have written about it

               I recently participated in a workshop part of a tech festival in Germany where they had one and I will do the same at my work place

               In my experience showing assistive technology and accessibility issues in real life had the biggest impact to change people's perspective on it

               Way more than showing slides or videos or blog posts 🤗
