   @zachleat see there we get into the weeds with the devs' worth (still a lot because people) and the worth of what they're creating, which as we all know is hang on I have my first day at a new job next week I better stop digging.

   a more cynical take on “Lottery factor” might recognize the turnstile of unpaid and underpaid open source maintainers and think that incentivizing adding *more* people to churn through the turnstile is actually not a good thing
