         @zachleat I haven't gone to poke at their pricing tiers but as you've described it that does feel like a dark pattern to me - the "default" will generate overages.

         Compare this to fly.io where the default is higher than you probably need, but doing that once will still keep you well under the "free tier" which is really just "we don't charge for anything under $5".

            @cthos yeah I think this “lesson” will probably end up costing me about $80 this month 😬 would have been $200 if I hadn’t emergency ejected the screenshots service last week

      @zachleat uhhhhhh “sure more cpu means more money but faster execution time eh eh?” Sure seems like a dark pattern when they round the execution times up, right?

         @cthos yeah, that part but also these are maximums—it’d be nice to see CPU or memory utilization metrics at the current vCPU setting

      I made a little chart comparing how a few different hosts charge for serverless execution time (normalized to hours of usage) and the vCPU default can cost you a lot of unnecessary money if you’re not paying attention!

   @zachleat dark pattern or not, they are pretty expensive anyway. Hetzner gives me 2vCPU, 4GB ram VM at 4$/month. Now "DX" can be compensated with coolify 😀
