@zachleat @adamghill Dudes…. I may genuinely cry. Thank you so much.
@khalidabuhakmeh @adamghill I used to open and close Apple Music at least 10 times a week 😭
@zachleat @khalidabuhakmeh @adamghill it's so good — even lets you set a new default, so I've got Plexamp wired up.
@zachleat @khalidabuhakmeh @adamghill I’m an Apple Music subscriber and I love this
@zachleat @adamghill Wooooooah, it also stops anything from opening Apple Music. So even in Spotlight it redirects to the replacement app.
also continuously grumpy that this is necessary—why can’t I delete Apple’s Music app? 🫠
Thinking about 🔢 Defcon levels of software consent patterns:
1️⃣ Defcon 1: Opt-in without asking (new default), opt-out not allowed.
2️⃣ Defcon 2: Opt-in without asking, opt-out allowed via user action
3️⃣ Defcon 3: Ask for opt-in via prompt with default yes already selected
4️⃣ Defcon 4: Opt-in via non-default user action (manual installation)
5️⃣ Defcon 5: Thing not added, requiring no action by anyone 😅U2’s new album push was Software Consent Defcon 2
@zachleat there’s space between 1️⃣ and 2️⃣, like if you can opt out but doing so requires some arcane terminal command or some other excessive amount of technical bullshit
@cbirdsong “just turn off filevault to use this mac os utility” OH OK

@zachleat @adamghill Next can I get a program that just does nothing if the play button is pressed and no music player is open? I accidentally press the play button on my Touch Bar in the middle of work like a dozen times a week lmao
@roguefoam I believe that is the default behavior of noTunes, no?
@zachleat That it is 🤦♂️ didn’t read the README in full and skimmed it - I need to be better about that lmao
@roguefoam we’ve all been there 😅
@zachleat @adamghill Wait. I don't have to listen to U2 anymore? 😮
@mariohamann @adamghill U3 is about to drop, time to upgrade
