@zachleat These aren’t the analytics you’re looking for.
@zastrow these aren’t the analytics I’m looking for
@zachleat “With the launch of Google Analytics 4, we’ve made improvements to your experience. All scum and villainy can now be conveniently accessed through Looker Studio.”
@Chris everything is fine
everything is fine
everything is fine
everything is fine
@zachleat modern startups will put bunch of analytics, telemetry, trackers and session replay in their website and then question why people are not approving their "UX"
Also, can you recommend some open source, lightweight analytics tool that doesn't behave like spying on users?
@nrk9819 @zachleat I've got a DIY approach (https://github.com/sbstjn/serverless-analytics) on my list. But I've also read positive things about plausible and fathom.
@zachleat we stopped using it as it is useless.
@macdonst @zachleat They made changes that made it completely useless to me. My numbers one day to the next switching to GA4 dropped by about 80%. I have tested some other solutions to know that the GA numbers were inaccurate so I just gave up. Right now I am using Cloudflare's free analytics which doesn't have anywhere near as much detail but enough for me.
@remotesynth @zachleat yeah, we are reading our traffic in the AWS console.
@zachleat the software or the SEO practitioners?
@KeithPurtell the software—it’s always the software 😅
@zachleat
At first, I thought the latest Google Analytics was so difficult to navigate because it introduced new concepts. I finally realized it has a bad UI. Disappointed that Google execs won't pay good techs to do their jobs.
