Why are the unofficial/official HTML and CSS logos tied to HTML5 and CSS3?
We need a https://github.com/voodootikigod/logo.js for HTML and CSS, posthaste!

@zachleat Because we were all wild about branding so dry stuff would get attention, but we never generalized the enthusiasm or the branding!
@randomgeek better late than never!
@zachleat Agreed! I had an idea for a CSS logo, a little tongue-in-cheek, but the simplicity works.
I don't have it at hand but here's the idea:
@chriskirknielsen I like this very much

@chriskirknielsen @zachleat love this
@chriskirknielsen @zachleat we need one for CSS4, CSS5, etc..! take a stab at adding a number or different color per each?
@argyleink @chriskirknielsen I was hoping to have an unversioned logo first, if possible! If folks want versioned ones too, I’m not opposed!
@argyleink @zachleat There's definitely room for a couple numbers (v9999 let's gooo). Looks a little like an element from a periodic table. I don't hate that, but is it CSS-y?
@chriskirknielsen @argyleink @zachleat this State of CSS one is pretty css-y @sachagreif
@chriskirknielsen @zachleat @sachagreif which @chriskirknielsen made I believe 😂
@chriskirknielsen @zachleat love this
@chriskirknielsen @zachleat Wait I thought that was the LaTeX logo?
@dalias @chriskirknielsen the latex show with stephen colbert??
@chriskirknielsen @zachleat could also just keep the same logos but increment the numbers 😂
CSS4 anyone?https://codepen.io/captainbrosset/pen/qBgmbrz
Plus, it uses web components!@patrickbrosset @chriskirknielsen the noise I made when I realized it handled multiple digits properly 🏆
@zachleat 5 minutes' editing in Gnu IMP got me this, which I personally kind of like.
@pjohanneson ship it
<!DOCTYPE logo>
@zachleat dark mode: crtl-i
@zachleat also, would appreciate HTML and CSS being a required skill in jobs rather than HTML5 and CSS3 🥺
@lea it’s marketing time
@zachleat the w3c has this for html https://www.w3.org/html/logo/
There’s also one for css3 but having a hard time finding the official page for it (on my phone at the moment)
@pascal ah, for sure—the request here is for unversioned logos
