   The bare minimum you can do is to post a methodology document to show each individual question on the survey, how the survey was compiled, sources of data, etc. If we’re not doing that, it’s noise.

      @zachleat esp irksome given the usually non diverse (eg non representative sampling) and generally less experienced nature of the samples. it's like asking kids which training wheels are best for professional downhill mountain biking.

         @brianleroux I’m fine with a good sample of experience levels and I wouldn’t want to pre-select for years of experience or anything like that. But yes, please report diversity too!

            @zachleat I too dislike a lot of things about credentialing / 'appeals to authority' but we have the exact opposite problem these days. Also, on the diversity angle, ageism is a part of this discussion. Maybe there's a reason devs w >N years experience eschew the the JS part of the web ecosystem. We should probably want to fix that too.

   @zachleat Yes, I think we are interested in those views because it helps gauge interest, and interest is often influenced by the views of other people. Good thing or not. So having both points of data would be useful. Not defending said survey which I think is wrong in a large number of ways (being targeted at a small subset of developers being the major one for me).
