I suppose it’s only fair to update this thread again with the official statement from Netlify: https://www.netlify.com/blog/gatsby-cloud-evolution/
Lots of contradictions between things said in that blog post and the sources linked above though 😬

@zachleat Did Elon buy Netlify?
@zachleat Perhaps I'm too cynical, but it seems to me that the focus shifts to enterprise whenever a technology is past the peak of its adoption curve. This maximizes profit during the long tail of usage by users that are more locked into the technology (usually big orgs that can't turn on a dime). In this case, it's not really about Gatsby, but about React more broadly, and where people perceive it to be in the tech cycle.
@zachleat ugh.
And "for the Enterprise". Why does their proper-nounification irritate me so much. They've started doing this specific one in their last few posts.
@phae Yeah… whew.
@zachleat „Enterprise grade“ framework then probably means ignoring issues and PRs + no RSC innovation 😁

@ascorbic @zachleat Sure, that was the whole point of https://github.com/gatsbyjs/gatsby/discussions/36608 - achieving island architecture and doing *something* different with RSC than Next (e.g. with a data layer in the cloud). See the comments from Dan and Ward at the bottom
