What tools are y’all using to generate your design token source files?

I’m reading this excellent theme switcher blog post from @mxbck
https://mxb.dev/blog/color-theme-switcher/…and I wondered if there was an open standard or tooling to generate tokens in said format.
I know this community group exists for it! https://www.w3.org/community/design-tokens
@zachleat We used Theo until we ran into some limitations (and noticed its inventors seemed to have moved on). We transitioned to Style Dictionary after that. Not perfect but pretty flexible.
@zachleat my fingers
@knowler underrated
@zachleat iirc, for colors we did a one-time dump using Figma Tokens to seed it, and have been updating the data file as the source of truth (as opposed to Figma) since
@zachleat Adobe at some point created a VS Code extension that takes an exported CC Library from Adobe XD and converts it into a “Design System Package” (DSP: https://github.com/AdobeXD/design-system-package-dsp) including design tokens as JSON. It even exports them into platform specific tokens via Style Dictionary (https://amzn.github.io/style-dictionary/). I demoed it in a few workshops for Adobe and really liked the approach. Unfortunately, it seems like development of the extension has been stopped. 😕
@zachleat build tools like Amazon’s Style Dictionary? Or something to generate the YAML files that something like style dictionary ingests?
@ardouglass the former!
@zachleat Tokens Studio Figma Plugin, hook it up to a GitHub repo.
@zachleat I was using @heydon's https://github.com/Heydon/design-tokens-cli for a while but eventually wrote my own because reasons, but his tool does the job really well.
@zachleat up to now, manually. Currently migrating to Token Studio in Figma.
