in my personal experience every relationship (that I’m personally a part of) has one person with 13 tabs open in their browser and one with 217 tabs open

@andrew I think this reveals which half you are 😅
@zachleat do you count mobile and desktop
@danleatherman these numbers were just mobile
@zachleat after seeing someone mention mobile I realized I have 2 different tab personalities
Desktop I'm a monster
Mobile always less than 5 (which I then clean)
@colbyfayock Jekyll and Hyde!!
@colbyfayock @zachleat same. Arguably the primary purpose of my laptop is tab incubation.
@zachleat what about ~3000 tabs? 😅
Ok, not all at once, thanks to the Simple Tabs Groups extension.
@nhoizey oh my god
@zachleat @nhoizey Love simple tab groups extension. Discard a group to unload the tabs from memory but still in the browser. Archive a group to completely unload the tabs from the browser (effectively bookmarked). Pop open the vertical sidebar to manage them all. I start a fresh group pretty much every day. Less stressful than having to close tabs, but more manageable than keeping them open. I can quite understand how you've got to 3k.
@charlesroper exactly how I use it! 👍
@zachleat
@zachleat I’m the later.
@thefinley same, same.
@zachleat I’m terrible about tabs on both desktop and mobile, to be honest. It used to be the point where my computer would shut itself down when I pushed it to the brink from too many tabs open 😅😬
@zachleat I will see your 217 and raise you 550
@zachleat My husband only opens what he needs, and closes all his windows every time he stops using the laptop?! So weird.
@sally my partner is that way too, inbox zero and all—weird
@zachleat I've got three broswer windows open on the laptop with a couple hundred tabs open… then there's my phone and my iPad browsers too!
@andydavies this window to tab ratio is somehow way more stressful to me? 😅
@zachleat Most personal stuff is in Safari, then there's a Chrome window for work and a second one for gmail ('cos it and Safari seem to fight)
@andydavies but how do you see the favicons when the tabs are tiny slivers
@zachleat Safari keeps the tab at the size of the favicon, just have to scroll the tab bar instead!
