https://fosstodon.org/@webpro/109717768907972230 has informed me that comparing two distinct pre-release tags is… alphabetic.
I don’t agree with this but at least I understand it now 😅
@zachleat Time to use xray, yankee, zulu as early release stages.
@AlesandroOrtiz haha—I like this “make it work” attitude
@zachleat It's either that or throwing a wrench at ~the cloud~ in frustration, which would just hit me back on the way down.

@lihbr are you watching me code 😅
@zachleat I've read somewhere that canary is supposed to be a totally different chanel than alpha/beta... I guess it's right... Sorry, true!
@tigersway yeah the channel can be @canary but the *version* should be `-alpha.`. I think I will use that convention moving forward!
@zachleat I've made the same mistake. I still argue prereleases should be incomparable. The semantics of a prerelease should not be mixed with it's alphabetical ordering.

https://tweets.dwac.dev/1486106892401213440/@develwithoutacause yeah, that’s what I expected too! That the pre-release tags would be distinct and both would return `false`
also 😍 to see you linking to your tweetback archive!
@zachleat I finally suspended the Twitter account so that's what I'm using. 😍 that you helped make it happen 😅. I don't know that I would have had the follow-through to build it from scratch.
