@zachleat I'll do a build time benchmark on my 2 main sites ASAP
@zachleat sooooo…
11 builds on my MacBook Air M2 with each version (1.0.2 and 2.0.0-beta.1) for my photography site, then I keep the median run times:
[11ty] Copied 1505 files / Wrote 2516 files in 37.13 seconds (14.8ms each, v1.0.2)
[11ty] Copied 1505 files / Wrote 2516 files in 38.17 seconds (15.2ms each, v2.0.0-beta.1)
😅
2.0.0-beta.1 was much more stable though, from 36.01 to 39.38, while 1.0.2 was from 33.59 to 43.64
I may have to reboot my Mac between each test, and stop any other app
@zachleat do you have a place where we could share such feedback? An issue or a discussion?
@zachleat it's a bit better on my personal site:
[11ty] Copied 879 files / Wrote 2070 files in 17.05 seconds (8.2ms each, v1.0.2)
vs
[11ty] Copied 879 files / Wrote 2070 files in 15.75 seconds (7.6ms each, v2.0.0-beta.1)
@zachleat Awesome I'll let the team know 😁
@zachleat 327% smaller?
Isn't the formula (Old - new) / old, so 75% smaller?
@zachleat Or 77.8% smaller: (155-34.3) / 155
@escarpment well apparently I messed up some basic math 😅
Fixes applying!
@zachleat No worries! Congrats on the release!

@zachleat oh, but I still need renderData until we have virtual templates ¯_(ツ)_/¯
@hans and you can’t use https://www.11ty.dev/docs/data-computed/ ? should be just a prop rename from `renderData` to `eleventyComputed`
@zachleat I might try it, but in truth my use of renderData to “fill in” a sparse set of files is an ugly hack and I am loathe to enshrine it 😆
At least it got magically more performant as you optimized 1.0!
@zachleat congratulations!!!!

@zachleat I would love to write a fastify-elevently adapter that works similar to the edge setup. Would you like to join my stream and we code it together?
