   @zachleat The magic here is that rather than having to remember to explicitly compile each SCSS file (à la https://github.com/philiprenich/philiprenich.com/blob/main/.eleventy.js#L17 ) 11ty instead handles all that file gathering for you behind the scenes?

   1. Zach Leatherman 1 hr later

      @mez yeah, exactly. Any .scss file that doesn’t start with an underscore is compiled to your output folder via standard Eleventy file routing rules.

   @zachleat I guess this is the answer to how to do JS bundling then? Looks pretty convenient!

      @mehulkar hmmm, I wouldn’t use *the answer* but hooking a bundler to this API is one answer to that question, yeah!

         @zachleat are there any docs/guides I’m missing? Or did you have a preferred strategy?

         1. Zach Leatherman 11 days later

            @mehulkar this is a userland-ish thing now, I’ve talked a bit historically about how tightly coupling to a bundler limits the lifespan of projects but I don’t know that I’ve ever written those thoughts up.

            Historically folks have used Webpack, Parcel, Vite (and we do have a vite plugin) https://www.11ty.dev/docs/server-vite/

            My even spicier opinion is that JS bundlers are one of the main reasons we have so many slow sites but that might be a little bit much for day 1 back from holiday break 😅

               @mehulkar Don’t ask me how I stumbled back into this thread but https://www.11ty.dev/docs/assets/ has docs on this now

                  @zachleat hmm, do you mean the Custom Templates part of that page? Glad to see there's a page on it!

                     @mehulkar yeah part #3!
