@zachleat, I've taken similar steps. It's a process, but I don't expect ever to take my account on the bird site out of cryostasis.

We should have seen the writing on the wall when they banned @matuzo 👀

@zachleat haha yeah but I don't believe that anyone could've predicted just how bad it would get.

@zachleat I'm completely done with Twitter. Honestly, I wasn't completely happy with the platform before Musk took over but it's gotten significantly worse since he has. Learning about decentralized web protocols has given me new hope for the web and how we socialize and share content online.

@MarkCodesTheWeb yeah! I share the same hope outside of the hell site

@zachleat This project is really interesting to me. https://ipfs.tech/
I still need to read more about it but the idea of peer to peer decentralization of data sounds like it has potential.

@MarkCodesTheWeb yeah I’ve been eyeing that too!

@zachleat I'm currently working on building my personal blog and I'm thinking about maybe integrating it with IPFS as a way to archive it. Also looking into using Mastodon or AP Protocol for comments.

I'm done with Twitter, even if Trump is ousted.
His account is just symbolic at this point (and very US-centric), it goes much beyond in terms of values and principles for me.
As long as Musk owns Twitter, I have no need to participate in the enrichment of men like that already powerful.
I don't boycott Twitter, I boycott Musk and alikes.
