      There were times in my life when I was so desperate that I thought WURFL might be the solution. 🥲

      @zachleat hey man, I saw someone say that The Matrix came out in “the late 1900s”. Your words have no power to harm me after that. I have seen the face of death and I have survived

      @zachleat Oh yes. I also remember Volantis which was the enterprise counterpart to wurfl. Built a mobile portal with that.

      I have nightmare about wml though.

      chtml which the Compaq iPAQ supported was a lot nicer though.

      1. Zach Leatherman Mastodon 2 hr later

         @trygve_lie wml (fml)

         1. Trygve Lie Mastodon 2 hr later

            @zachleat I remember that a wml card could only hold a maximum of characters, including the markup. Due to this long texts had to be split into multiple cards. Iow, one had to count characters in a text and subtract markup one would use to know where to cut the text for a card.

            And; if one got that wrong the markup could end up being cut by the mobile gateway on the way out to the user.

            And if that did happen it all would crash on the client due to invalid xml.

            Boy. Yeah. FML!

   I wouldn’t worry about it, at those prices nobody will buy it😂

      don’t worry many people are saying it will be cheaper in about two weeks or after the US election midterms (whichever is easier to lie about)
